Before the co-working spaces that are so familiar now, was E-Office – an innovative idea with a design to match.
Hearing the phrase “co-working space” isn’t an uncommon thing in this day and age, but when E-Office approached Squaredot to design their Soho, London location in 2001, the idea of using a space in this innovative way was new and exciting.
A typical co-working space places a great deal of emphasis on functionality and practicality, something that should always be prioritised – but not at the expense of being aesthetically pleasing and inspiring. E-Office were keen not to fall into this trap, and Squaredot was happy to help. The exciting, vivid and contemporary layout and style of the E-Office really sets it apart from other similar spaces, and your standard office space. The energising colours and fresh feel leave people feeling more productive and motivated, and suits the broad range of businesses who choose to be located there.
The flexible and imaginative workspaces at E-Office were specifically designed to compete with the smartest, most contemporary of offices, and to not feel like it was designed for semi-permanent tenants. As (probably) one of the first co-working spaces, it set the bar high for the many co-working spaces that have come since then, especially since the change that has arisen in this post-covid era.
