Squaredot Shortlisted for Insider Magazine Awards for Cushman & Wakefield Project.

25-09-2024

We are proud to announce that Squaredot has been shortlisted for the Insider Media Magazine West Midlands Property Awards for our creative design work on the Cushman & Wakefield fit out in Birmingham.

The project at 1 Colmore Square in Birmingham has been shortlisted for Workplace Fit-Out Of The Year, and we are honoured to be considered for such an award. The Insider Magazine West Midlands Property Awards is in its 24th year, and will see 14 awards presented to the best people, projects and purchases of the past 12 months. With strong competition from across the West Midlands region, it’s great to see this level of recognition for a project we have been so passionate about.

“It’s great to be shortlisted, the whole team have created something really special. Getting creative with the use of space has allowed people to find their own unique getaways from the desk, making a real difference to how they can now work and enjoy the space.” Paul Tupman, Project Lead, Senior Designer, Squaredot

Global commercial real estate leaders, Cushman & Wakefield, approached Squaredot as they embarked upon a £1.5m category B fit out of their Birmingham hub in the iconic 1 Colmore Square building, with a view to modernise and meet the needs of their business more efficiently and cater for circa 160 employees. With a reduced floorspace to work with, as well as keeping sustainability in mind, Squaredot created an efficient, agile space which reflects the more modern working arrangements we are seeing in the post-covid era, and allowed us to consolidate the overall floor space to provide a much higher quality environment for staff.

Squaredot worked closely with the Cushman & Wakefield team to ensure that all the needs of the people coming to use the space were met, introducing more individual settings for work, height adjustable desks, collaboration spaces, dedicated focus areas, wellness areas and social spaces to create a vibrant, activity-based workplace. Sustainability was also a key consideration from the outset, with strategies including the reuse of CAT A items and existing furniture from their previous offices, which was to be complemented with new items to provide a fresh new look & feel to the scheme.

With mindful consideration for wellbeing, acoustics and biophilia, the new fit-out has significantly increased staff satisfaction, enabled greater interaction and become an exemplar workplace for Cushman & Wakefield to be proud of. The impact of the new space has already seen increased revenue from visiting clients and has become a showcase for their vision and ability to deliver excellence. If the aspiration was to create a sustainable and cost-effective environment to excite the staff and accelerate the employee experience, then this was most certainly achieved.
