Design Amsterdam trip with Vescom

Jennifer was fortunate enough to join Vescom and some fellow industry designers on an inspiring three day tour exploring the abundance of design in the city of Amsterdam. Vescom arranged a multitude of inspiring visits, Jens favourites being Microsoft’s Schiphol office, and also MüllerVanTol's studio in central Amsterdam.

The aspiration behind Microsoft’s Netherlands office, opened in November 2018, was to create a Customer Experience Centre based on Microsoft's future vision of driving digital transformation for a more meaningful world. Jen observed a coherent blend of technology and wellbeing creating an energetic buzz throughout the customer spaces. Since the refurbishment, user collaboration and networking from diverse business backgrounds from start-ups to corporate has apparently more than doubled.

Another inspiring visit was to Vescoms design director, Christiane Müller at her Amsterdam Studio, MüllerVanTol. Jen found Christiane captivating with her design industry knowledge and thirst for learning, and also saw similarities with the functioning of her studio and Squaredot’s in Stratford Upon Avon. Lots of finishes, materials and creative thinking!
