2024 was a year of significant growth and achievement for Squaredot. We continued to push boundaries in workplace design, delivering impactful projects for a diverse range of clients while actively engaging in industry events and initiatives, sharing key insights and expertise, and growing as a business.

Our portfolio in the past year has showcased our expertise in understanding business needs, creating property strategies and the creation of thoughtfully designed inspiring and stimulating workspaces. We've delivered impactful solutions for clients across various sectors, including:

  • Cushman & Wakefield: Demonstrating how creating a sustainable and cost-effective environment will excite the staff and accelerate the employee experience.
  • STFC: The transformative effects of creating a state-of-the-art workspace to support the cutting-edge research conducted within its walls while fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Gaming & Tech Company: Highlighting our understanding of the unique needs of dynamic and creative industries.
  • Government Agency: Underlining our experience in designing efficient public sector spaces that inspire innovation.
  • Manchester Airport Group: An opportunity to return to the site of our 2020 transformation project to undertake further analysis of the business and their evolving ways of working, as the airport and business requirements continue to grow.

Industry Leadership, Recognition and Engagement

Squaredot has remained at the forefront of industry discourse and has also garnered recognition:

  • BCO Annual Conference: We were proud to be a part of this excellent conference, held by the British Council for Offices. Hosting tours of key Birmingham landmark buildings and a lively and insightful plenary session led by Kris Krokosz, solidified our position as thought leaders in the workplace sector.
  • Insider Media Magazine West Midlands Property Awards: A testament to the quality and innovation of our work, we were proud to be shortlisted for our creative design work on the Cushman & Wakefield fit out in Birmingham. Being considered for Workplace Fit-Out of the year for a project we are so passionate about was an honour.
  • BCO Next Gen Awards: Joseph Huddleston was delighted to be part of the judging team for the 2024 BCO Next Gen Awards. With so many years of expertise behind Squaredot, it is key to fostering the next generation of workplace professionals by actively contributing to their development.
  • FX Design Awards: Contributing to the celebration and advancement of excellence in workplace design is vital, and David Kramer was honoured to be selected to join the judging panel of the prestigious FX Design Awards this year. Celebrating world-class design excellence, the awards recognise the very best in the industry. 

Growing Our Team and Expanding Our Reach

2024 has also seen significant developments within Squaredot:

  • A Refreshing New Website: A refreshed online presence showcases our work and values to a wider audience, in a clear and effective way.
  • A  BCO Mentoring Appointment: Joseph Huddleston took on a new role as National Chair of the BCO Mentoring Programme, furthering our commitment to nurturing young talent within the industry.
  • Bonding in Dublin & London: With team days out exploring parts of Dublin and visiting old haunts in London, our team grew closer and more cohesive through engaging and memorable experiences.
  • Work Placement Student from Birmingham City University: It was a pleasure to welcome Shawni from BCU for a week in November, helping and supporting the next generation of designers through valuable work experience opportunities. We look forward to staying in touch and seeing her final year show later this year.
  • Welcoming New Talent: We welcomed three new faces to Squaredot; Mishika, Ben and Nadia, enriching our diverse skill set and perspectives with fresh points of view and exciting ideas.
