Enterprise House Offices. Blending 1930's charm with modern workspace designs and ideals
In 1935 The Great Western Railway Company built Enterprise house which today sits at the end of platform one at Paddington Station. Originally built as a mixed use facility, when Squaredot were approached to bring new life to the building it had been unoccupied for 12 years and was in a state of disrepair. The entirety of the derelict building was to be refurbished, including structural improvements, new windows, replacement floors and more. Squaredot worked closely with Network Rail on the extensive remodelling of both the interior and exterior of this historic building. Blending a business led property solution with creative flare led to a bright and energised space where people want to work, refreshing the iconic building without losing any of its original charm.
The quality of the 1930’s design was preserved, and the mixture of old and new provides an elegant and welcoming backdrop to staff and visitors alike. The extensive work also makes it easily accessible and a low cost sustainable property. The priority was creating an office space that people wanted to work in, as Network Rail are aware of wider changes in not only how firms approach their properties, but also how they use them as a tool for human resources to recruit, retain and motivate.
Squaredot have helped Network Rail to achieve what they set out to – offices at the forefront of smart, contemporary design that people enjoy working out of. Network Rail’s people won’t come to an office which is not in-keeping with the working environment and conditions they have come to expect; modern, future-ready, light and bright spaces which help them do the best work they can, happily. And thanks to Squaredot, Enterprise House does the job perfectly.
